Saco Middle School Parent Forum

Saco Middle School Cafeteria, Saco, Maine

Saco Middle School is hosting a Parent Forum evening, with a presentation by Stay; For Life.ย  Stay; For Life will share insights on the importance of mental health awareness and suicide prevention. Angela will also share her journey as a mother who lost her son to suicide. Attendees will be provided with practical strategies and resources to facilitate mental health awareness and navigate difficult situations such as suicidal ideation.ย  Stay; For Life and Angela deliver thoughtful and compassionate presentations that address mental health, emotional challenges, suicide, and suicide prevention with sensitivity and care. Event is for parents, guardians and adult caregivers, not for students or siblings.

Beat the winter blues with an indoor Cornhole Tournament!

Stay; For Life will be holding a cornhole tournament on Saturday March 14th at Litchfield’s Bar and Grill in Wells. Stay; For Life table and volunteers will be on hand with free mental health and suicide prevention resources, SFL swag, and a fun afternoon of cornhole!

**While we will be following all logistic cornhole rules, this event will be a FRIENDLY tournament**

Presentation, Maine Recreation & Park Association Fall Workshop

65 Central Ave, Lewiston, Maine

Angela Whitten, Executive Director and Co-Founder of Stay; For Life, a Maine-based nonprofit dedicated to mental health awareness and suicide prevention, will share her insights on the critical importance of equipping individuals with the necessary tools to better understand and manage their mental well-being. She will provide practical strategies and resources to facilitate awareness and mechanisms to foster growth. Drawing from her personal experience as a mother who tragically lost her 18-year-old son to suicide in June 2022, Angela brings a unique and powerful perspective to her advocacy work.
