Testimonials

We have a lot of presentations, workshops and seminars for our staff. Yours was different. It was relatable. And not a dry slideshow, like presentations can often be. And you were able to talk about mental health and suicide prevention without it being too overly heavy or dark. I was very pleasantly surprised.

Truly it was the first time I felt understood and not crazy for how I’d been feeling for the last 6 months. I am so sorry you and your loved ones lost Trent to suicide, it’s a pain I wouldn’t wish on anyone and I deeply admire how his death has been the catalyst to the wonderful work you and your team and volunteers are doing at Stay for Life.

I was talking with one of the boys in my circle this weekend, and he admitted he’s in a really dark place right now. But what struck me most was that he said it without shame or fear. He told me, very matter-of-factly, “I need to talk to someone. I have healthcare coverage through my employer, and I’m using it.”
That may sound simple, but I truly don’t think conversations like that happened as openly a few years ago. I honestly believe the work you’re doing is making a real impact. You’re helping create an environment where young men feel allowed to say they’re struggling and empowered to seek help instead of hiding it.
That matters more than words can say. Thank you for everything you and the foundation are doing. It’s changing lives in ways you may not even fully realize.

Donnie found a way through to my husband and through the road is still a struggle, it was the crack of light in the darkness and the feeling of knowing it’s as okay to not be okay, and he had a right to feel and show emotion for the loss of his brother and acknowledge the impact it had on him and us personally.

I saw how you actually are in the trenches, the booths and going to schools. I can really appreciate how your work really does help save lives.

Thanks for listening to my concerns and giving us valuable resources. My son had a positive meeting with a therapist today. It was the first time he felt comfortable being open and honest with a care giver. I FaceTimed with him earlier and he had gotten a hair cut and finally ate. I could see a little color back in his face. One day at a time! I just want to thank you.

My happy light is working miracles. After using it for a few days, I caught a glimpse of happiness. And it was a wonderful feeling. With daily use, happiness is a regular emotion now. It’s been a long time and I have you to thank for it. Thank you.

Your non-profit organization is awesome. As a former army veteran, I myself have battled with depression and anxiety. Along with battling with some PTSD things as well. And yes, there are some extremely bad days but there are also some great days. I’ve lost a lot of very close friends that I consider brothers to me due to suicide. So thank you for making men’s mental health awareness more known!

Seeing your post about the light therapy box was very eye opening because I know my teenage son has depression and this is a great therapeutic avenue for him to do at home. I have ordered all my kids one for Christmas. When they opened them and we explained to them what they were and what they are for, each of my children were thankful. It was a way to open the door from a different direction to discuss emotions and an uncomfortable feeling. THANK YOU!

Everyday I turn on the news and get the news that another man has taken his life by suicide. I just want to say thank you. Thank you for all that I know you will continue to do to bring awareness to this.
